Portraits of Farmworkers in Washington
Voices Woven is a documentary series project created by audiovisual artist Sara Ochoa, whose mission is to compile the stories and experiences of our farmworkers in the state of Washington. In this series, topics of social injustice and negligence by companies like Zirkle Fruit and government agencies such as Labor and Industries are addressed.
Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Sara Ochoa arrived in the state of Washington with the aim of providing a perspective of beauty and value to the simplicity of our field workers. This independent and impactful audiovisual series partners with Alcon Media, LLC to promote information, a culture of respect, and the fight for social justice that many of our brothers and sisters have sought for a long time but have been denied due to the inefficiency of a system corrupted by nonprofit organizations, corporations, and institutions.
Voices Woven is more than a documentary series; it is a testament to the resilience and struggle of a community that deserves to be heard and recognized. With each shared story, a tapestry of voices is woven, seeking justice and equity in a world that has often turned its back on them.
